ifstream isn't opening file-why?
The file is in the project directory and named correctly but it wont open with the ifstream class. Any ideas why this might be?

Depends on how exactly you saved it. If you look in the directory where the file was, check to see if it's name is myfile, or myfile.txt. If the later is true, and you never see extensions for you files, then yes, you're correct, otherwise, I'd suggest in posting your code so we can see what happened.
