Hey, i was just wondering if c++ was the right language for me... I like writing simple programs and fooling around with featues.
Im only 14 and i want to be a programmer so bad. I think its awesome and unlike some people, i think its fun. Ive been trying to get into it but its on and off. One of the things i want to is write plugins for minecraft... I think minecraft is written in java so can i still do it? Is this a proffessional program? If i get into programming and learn this language, will i have to learn a new one for a job? Also what program do i use and is it free? Can i write programs in wordpad or microsoft word and import them? Is it realistic for a 14 year old to learn it? I got a book on c++ and so far i like the language. Please answer as many of my questions as you can. -David
I started learning c++ at your age. first answer: You cannot make minecraft plugins. That's more complicated than you expect. 2. It's one of the most professional programming languages. 3. Depends on the job you will get. Generally not. 4. Depending on your choices, it can be free or not. Beginners always start with free things: Google for Code::Blocks. In the official Binary download page, download the version including MingW. 5. You can create the files with notepad, but you better use a IDE. a IDE is your "workspace" (Code::Blocks is a IDE, and MingW is its compiler). Good Luck! (P.S.: I'm 16)
