link errors

when I try to compile my code I get this error and four similar ones

Error	2	error LNK2005: "int gameState" (?gameState@@3HA) already defined in main.obj	C:\Users\jax\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\TicTacToe\TicTacToe\tictactoe.obj

Ive been on multiple websites that claimed to have a solution including this one and so far no sugested solution has worked

where is int gameState defined? You cannot do this inside a header file.

I fixed those errors now Ive just got to try to remember how to use references and or pointers
