For those of you whose job is writing in c++ what do you do.Do you write like programs for companys? Do you make games? do you use graphics? what do you use to make the graphics(like open gl)?

Where I've worked for the last couple of years, mostly data receiving/processing/retaining/transmitting state machines. No graphics.

There are so many answers to this question that it boggles the mind.
Some people are hobbyists, some people are professionals, some freelance, some work in an office under direction of project managers. Some of the people are security analysts (they hack into systems to expose their weaknesses so the company can strengthen their systems), or network managers, systems managers or project leads. Some people are concerned with secure file management, some are concerned with national security. Some people write intelligent programs for robots, or make advanced controllers for medical sciences. If you can think of something that can be done, there's most likely a field of computer scientists that work on that topic.
