Hi guys im new here, just wanted to start things off by saying hELLO

i have to wright a C++ prg. in which I ask the user to input his Employee ID
(which is going to be a 4 digit number 0000, 0234,2340...)

how can I identify this variable?
int, double or what?

how can i validate it?

PS-im new to this so if the questions are stupid.....my bad :)
