direct x 11 header file

Does anybody know where I can download the DirectX10/11 api like you have to do for Open GL?

Coming from Open GL, I learnt that you can download such a header file but Im not sure where I can download it.

All you need is the DirectX SDK, which is available for download on Microsoft's site.
