Window instead of Command Prompt

Hi there, I only just started learning C++ about 5 days ago, I know a little but one thing that would interest me even more is instead of always seeing what I code come up in command prompt, is the possibility to have it appear in a window just like many other apps there? It would be nice to know how to achieve this with a RECENT source code please if anyone is willing to help. Thankyou

programming windows 95 by charles petzold is the book you want. dont be turned away by the title. it really is one of the best win 32 books you will find. plus each chapter has complete programs for you to learn and practice not useless snippets.
