C++ compiler

Hi there.Tell me please which compiler should I install for practising c++.I'm
novice in this respect.I installed Microsoft visual C++ Express Edition 2008 but
after installation i got the error that it's invalid win32 application when i try
to open it.I'm running windows XP.Please guide me through it.Cheers.

Code::Blocks. Its not a compiler (IDE?) but I think thats what you want.
