I'm trying to become a C++ guru in as little time as humanly possible

I presume you want to secure the job desperately and due to their requirement for C++ developer, you want to excel in C++ in the shortest time frame so you have a chance to enter their doors?

Frankly speaking, depending on each individual learning capabilities, to be a guru cannot be "forced". A good developer hone their skills throughout the years and not in quick shot. You maybe a genius of cuz then it is fine.

Why not be frank to that potential employer, say you lack C++ skills but you are willing to pick it up on your own effort. At least the potential employer knows you lack C++ skills and you are frank to them. Of cuz admitting that fact may blow your chances away. But look at it the other way, if you "smoke" your way in and they discover you are more hype than real, you won't last very long in that company either.

My humble opinion :)
You are certainly right - I could learn every piece of C++ syntax in a day (theoretically of course) and I wouldn't even be close to the level that years of experience would grant.

After thinking about this a little more, I think I have a better solution. I'm attempting to solve one of these Facebook puzzles right now and, although on MY end the code seems perfect, the Puzzle Robot is telling me it's incorrect. It would probably be best to just get an assessment of my code.

I'm gonna go ahead and mark this thread as solved and post my current puzzle solution, but I do thank you much for your advice.
