problem with my visual c++

hi,
i've installed visual c++6 sometime ago and it gave me problem, so i uninstall it and reinstall and now the problem is worse, that is when i open it, i see a message box popup displaying the error message "can't find the file DAO350.DLL". This made me uninstall and reinstall for several times but still the problem exist. Please help me on how to solve this problem.
VC++ 6 is quite old, can't you install a newer version?
Open the CD in explorer, find and copy the DAO350.dll file to this directory "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\DAO". A simular write up can be found here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304230

If you are using a version of Windows later then XP then this may not work. I suggest a newer version of M$ VC++. Try here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/bb984878.aspx

You may need to register with them, but between this IDE and the SDK and a host of other stuff for programmers I can tell you it's worth it.
Thank you all for your attention, but the problem is, now that i have installed visual c++ 2008 but when i write visual c++ 6 codes in it, i am given error messages. So how should i go about this problem too?
VC++ 6 is pre-standard C++
hi,
then how should i go about it before i can go on well with it as i do with vb c++ 6
