Need assistance with a project

Hello I am new to C++ I am learning it from various sites and today I started my fist project and I need a tip.

First I need a way to check if someone has inputed a character I want him to for example if I want the user to input A B C or D and not other characters or number (I want this to be characters and not number like 1 2 3 4)
