just a quick question
how do you make the black output window stay open and say press any key to continue? (i m not asking how to program it to say that but that might help)
when i write a simple program like

cout hello world!

the black window (idk what its called) it wont stay open it flashes and goes away

i asked my teacher at school and he said just press ctrl f5 or click on run without debug and it works on the school computers the window stays open but when im at my house it just flashes really quick then disappears (i have visual studio 2010) at school we use visual studio and quincy (visual studio at school is like 08 or something) idk if it might be my computer or the 2010 studio

All you have to do is copy/paste the code from that thread

Or, checkout the sticky thread near the top of the page with 120 replies titled "console closing down". Did you not see this?
