adding content into an array

now i know how to add content into an array normally. what i need to do is, add content to an array. if that slot is already taken up, i need to implement a linked list into that slot. i already have a working linked list implementation, i just do not know how to go on about this part of the problem. any help would be useful. thank you.

Use an array of linked lists.
