well there's a difference in using (like using the actual programs) and making (writing, debugging etc.) the programs.

If you want to write c++ programs, a good start is http://cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/

We can't really tell you how to write them, because it involves way to much to post in here, hence the tutorial...

If you need it for school (your subject) then they've probably explained it already (since they can't ask you stuff that's non-relative to the course), or you wouldn't need it..

So I suggest you either look it up in your course books, or you just start with the tutorial :)
