Im going to be studying C++ in sept and I want to start with a bit of knowledge

Ive just finished and passed a level three National Award where I leant about Visual BAsic 6.0 I made two programs but only managed to complete one for assinment work, Ive made a generater in VB for my own personal use and I would like to start learning about C++ for next year. Ive download it off the MS website and just wanted to know if I can use what Ive learn in VB and where I can find tutorials that allow me to pratice what Im reading
