So I have a counter for how many are in the Race & Gender, but I also need to have a counter to how old they are (0 years old when they start for this example)

If this is your assignment, you're doing it wrong. You shouldn't be worrying about a bunny age system right now. You should be using classes to implement your own linked list of bunnies and assign them attributes based on a random factors.
