read text from a website

I have been searching the net and cannot find any basic help with my task.

I simply need to read a string from a webpage, can anyone please show me a simply example how I could do this.

for example;


the website::

"http://www.google.com"



string I wish to read::

"images"

I would grately appreciate any help.
