how to enter characters separated by space

i have a exercise telling me to enter five character a,e,i,u,o separated by space on one line. Can you guys show me how to do it because whenever i use cin>>a>>U>>...>> it doesn't work ]. And please show me the simplest way because i am just a beginner.
