Clear Line Command?

I know there is a clear screen command, but is there one to clear just a single line?

Only way I can perceive is through curses.
EDIT: Alternatively, you could move the cursor and print a line of spaces. Again, the easiest way to do that is curses.

I mean I can write a function that clears the screen and re-displays everything again, but there surely has to be a single command.

Why would there surely be a command for that? The console interface was never really designed for looking pretty. It's only concerned with efficient I/O operation.

Standard console, no way. You'll have to mess with a (messy) API system, or switch into curses.
