Read the errors, they are very intuitive. You are calling searchFile with 2 arguments instead of one and you are referring to a variable that does not exist.

srch_string does not exist. That's why you are getting undeclared identifier.

I don't even understand that sentence but I think you misinterpreted my last comment.
By "I don't see what the problem is", I mean I don't know what's going wrong. What do you want me to look at? What is it that's so obvious that I'm not seeing?
