Midi chords and playing more than one midi note at once

hi i am a complete novice at c++ and was wondering if you could help me. You see what i am trying to do is play a chord of 3 notes (midi note: 56, 63 and 68), i can get to play them individually but cant seem to get them to play at the same time. Can someone help me please?
