hello i want to create mods for games.
i need to learn how the game works ... i need to have the source code or just the game to learn the functions and things like this ?

This is rather a stupid question, but I'll explain it.
EVERY game, is made out of code ( of course ), and to make mods, you first need to know if the game SUPPORTS mods.
If it does, there should be a documentary online for how to create mods for that game.
You don't need the source code nor functions of the game itself to create mods to it.. not at all.

You know Gta san andreas right ?
They have create an mood not new cars and things like this.
They have create an multiplayer mod so they can play multiplayer that game

Then go on the GTA SA forums (pretty sure they exist) and ask them how to create mods
