unix pico editor

does anyone know how to copy code out of pico and paste into it. it will be much appreciated!

I assume that means you are using some terminal program to connect to a UNIX server. If that's right, what program are you using?

Why are you using pico? That is one brain-dead editor. Can't you use something like gedit, nedit, kate or, heaven help us, vi?

Zhuge - yes i am using Putty to access a UNIX server.

PanGalactic - Unfortunately pico is what my professor wants us to use in his class. its just a basic c++ programming course. he has mentioned vi but for now we have to use pico.

so if any of you would happen to know what command will allow me to copy code out and paste in would help me a lot
