Hello everyone! I have been learning c++ for a while now and have grasped the basics so I am now willing to use sfml making 2d games hoping to learn more advanced concepts on the go. Will it work or should I first learn the language completely before trying this?

Learn both at the same time! I believe in learning through experience and in experimenting you'll teach yourself a lot. Just be careful you don't confuse yourself, or completely give up on learning the language because you feel like you know enough. Continue to expand your knowledge.
