Help with Multidimensional array

Hi guys,

i need some help I'm trying to make a battleship kind of game that allows the user to input how big the grid size is and how many ships. I'm using a multidimensional array with pointers, class but i can't get my head around how to do it using class with pointers could anyone show me how to simple grid that allows user input with class or point me in the right direction?!?!?!
