how can i save data in file using double link list?

i have a problem in my code. im trying to make a student report card project using double link list and file handling.
but im stuck . i search allot but i didn't make any sense.
i am clear about file handling and how to store data in files. it is cleared.
but here i am using node in files.
how can i add data in nodes ? is data will save in node or files??
please give me some hints?
