Question about forum

Hey guys, I would just like to know what I did wrong in this thread ( http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/general/141854/ ), did I violate any of the rules of the forum? Or did I not provide enough info? Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
There's nothing wrong with the thread or any of the questions asked in it. When a question goes unanswered, it's typically a sign that it was posed in the wrong community.
Ok thanks... do any of you guys have an idea where I can post my question? (Reverse engineering forums or something of the like)
it's typically a sign that it was posed in the wrong community.

Or that the question is not clear enough. Instead of just bumping the thread add information, ask the question differently. But just bumping the thread with no more information will sometimes turn some people away.

And you really shouldn't edit your posts after someone has responded, because this makes it hard for someone else to come into the conversation since the threads following the edit may no longer make sense. Just reply to the thread and add the additional information.
Thanks, I was just unsure if I should add anything (hence the incessant bumping), but thanks for the tip I'll remember it.
