Formatting

Recently I have been told that the formatting of my coding is bad (making it difficult to leave). I am fairly new and am self taught, so I just write my code so I am capable of reading it. If anyone could assist me by telling me (or showing me a website to look at) where I should create new lines, good place of spaces, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.
