screen input

Hi,

I'm a first year informatics student.
And for a software project I need screen pixel colour information (as efficient as possible).
I only had like 6 classes in c++, so my knowledge is basic.
(spend most time learning another language nobody has ever heard of... Oberon)
Also we only used console input/output in our assignments.
So if someone could enlighten other input/output possibilities, It would be nice.
I have The c++ programming language written by Bjarne Stroustrup so referencing to this book is possible.

Thanks in advance,

i don't have your book (The C++ Programming Language), even through i heared about it.... anyway try to look at the Win32 GUI and DirectX or OpenGL if you want to see cool interface and better input capabilities but i suggest you take it slower, starting with the basic console io, then to win32 and then choose bettween DirectX or OpenGL (DirectX RULZ!!).... but if you really are interested how it looks try ask your teacher about it.... down is a simple Win32 program (just to scare you a bit)
