I have the book too. I have only glanced through it. Someone gave it to me right before I enrolled in my classes. My personal advice, and keep in mind I'm still a lowly newb to programming, is that the book WILL have you programming fast, but it will not strongly imprint the concepts of C++ so that you can have a true 'understanding' of the language. Best bet is to buy a real book on C++ (you can try amazon.com), and you could use the dummies book as a 'first-step' type of book leading into more advanced learning. One final note, even after looking over 'dummies', I still had to start at the very beginning of my text book because sooooo much was left out of the 'dummies' book.
hope this helps in some way
