Multi dimension array woes

I have been given following assignment in my textbook

  Write a Program that will find of two diagonals of two dimensional array A[N][N]

i am totally stuck up... i dont know even how to start
can someone help me how excetly to start just the concept
the textbook hasent much to teach on multi diamention topic
