hi everyone i am new to this site and programming i am looking for a little help on what book to start programming i am using Beginning Programming with C Plus Plus for Dummies i am not a dummy but is this a good book to start with or not my other question is am i better to write everything down as i go along as well any tips would be greatfull thanks

I was going through some of the old posts to see if there were any I could learn something from. I found this one on page 42 and saw that no one had replied to you.

I have not read C++ for Dummies, but I have been reading Michael Dawson's Beginning C++ Through Game Programming 3rd Edition. It has been very helpful to me.

What helped me when I was reading was making programs with what I had learned so far.
