Well, it seemed to me that you are interested in listening, I can rapidly run out of patience when I try to help and it seems to fall on deaf ears.
As for programmers working alone, yes and no. There can be a lot of individual work, but there's plenty of teamwork too, that includes discussing the best way to tackle a problem, as well as more mundane things such as understanding a line of code, or a particular function or data structure.
