Need a new computer.

Does any one have any suggestions for me the budget is £500, I'm British.
I would prefer a Windows operating system I know Windows 10 will be out soon.

I will most likely be using it for games and programming
I'll easily admit that i am terrible at C++ but still.

I can't/do not want to build it myself so if you could post links to any really good UK websites that would be great.

Hi,
Here's a part list I would recommend :
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hLyvQ7
I have most of the parts in this build and I can asure you I haven't encountered any problems for the time being.

As for the building process, do a little research. There are a lot of services that would build it for you. I would really recommend you do research on how to build it yourself because it's much cheaper and it's way funner.

Here's a video of a guy building a computer, watch this video and you pretty much know how to build a pc :

It's an intel build and a little higher end but building another build is almost identical, just do a little research.
I hope I helped,

P.S. The prices are in dollars but they correspond to your budget. Just be carefull as the prices may vary from country to country.
@Mindoo, he stated

To be frank, you are not going to find a decent prebuilt at that price to play games. Honestly, with your budget, I'd say your only option is to build.

Is there any specific reason why you may not build a computer?
@giblit
I know, that's why I said I "recommended" it. I did not say he HAD to...
And no offense, try to help in your answers, don't go pick on people who are trying to help.

At the risk of opening a can of hostility, he explicitly stated he doesn't want to build it, so you didn't really help either

edit: I don't know the prebuilt market across the pond, but £500 is roughly $770 american. Here you won't get a gaming beast but as long as you get one that's an actual tower (not a mini or all-in-one) and get one that's got a decent processor (look for mid range i5 for intel, no recommendation on AMD as I haven't built in a while) you can always buy a better graphics card. In which case, the AMD 970 is a good 'budget' card.

As a reference point you should check out PC World -- http://www.pcworld.co.uk They're not the cheapest so you can use them as a high watermark.

Searching the site for "Gaming PC" below £600 (assuming you might be tempted to stump up another 10% for the right machine) gave me 6 hits, inc:

I'm not up to speed with the current range of CPUs and graphics cards; the last time I did my research for a new PC was a few years ago, so I have no idea how suitable these PCs actually are for hard-core gaming.

When I bought my last PC I worked out what CPUs and graphics cards were suitable and then googled for them (along with other criteria such as disk size) to find PC models which matched my required spec.

(The articles also mention other possible alternatives.)

One particular brand I have heard good things about is Alienware (their machines definitely looked cool when I visited their shop in London.) The
Alienware X51 desktop starts off at £599.

£350
http://www.ebuyer.com/671345-zoostorm-gaming-desktop-pc-7260-5040

CPU and GPU are both mid-range.
I bought an even cheaper system than that with an A10-6800k but I bought an Asus GTX 750Ti separate.
With that build though if I flicked the process into realtime (Don't know why it really needed that) it's run Arma3 smoothly

Buy Windows7 64bit as you'll get Win10 for free when it comes out and Win7 is cheaper than 8

eBuyer have a lot of "budget gaming" computers. I reckon it's the perfect kind of system to get to start you off, and if you wan't you can slowly upgrade it (add some more ram, swap out cpu, swap gpu, install ssd, etc)
