Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore are big places currently.

Which companies utilise C++ talent currently?
Scientific organizations, embedded or handheld systems developers, embedded application development, telecommunications, banking.

What can an experienced C++ professional demand salary wise?
That depends on where you are living working. Typically you should expect the same as a .NET developer, perhaps a little more but that depends on the shortage of and desire for C++ developers.
