| Bio: | Hello. I'm currently studying Humanities. I have one more year to go before I earn my degree, and I have to admit that I don't want to graduate yet. I enjoy my few years in the university, learning new ideas, reading different reading materials, and making myself better in self-expression while writing those essays assignments.
For instance, I enjoy studying the works of Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa. Most written works in Latin America are political in nature and employ magic realism, but Mr. Llosa manages to do an exception to the rule. For me, that's sheer brilliance. My favorite work of his is "Pantaleón y las visitadoras", which is about a straight laced army captain who is assigned to take charge of a group of soldiers in a section of the Amazon Jungle that seems strange and fascinating to these men. I won't divulge more details, as part of the plot is sensitive in nature. But I assure you it's not offensive, and that I find it amusing and insightful. My class got the chance to discuss it, and I was rewarded with an exchange of opinion that is both humorous and perceptive. I don't know what to do after graduation. I haven't thought about my career options, but I'm pushing through with my backpacking trip in the Mediterranean. I like to visit Morocco, Italy, Slovenia, and Turkey. I'm fascinated at exotic cultures, and I'm also interested in ancient Roman architecture. It will be fun, and I'll be busy taking photos and making new friends. I can't wait. |
