The codecvt_byname standard facet has the same characteristics as the codecvt class, except that its constructor allows the construction of an object for a specific named locale:

constructor: explicit codecvt_byname ( const char* std_name, size_t refs = 0 );

Constructs an object with the same characteristics as codecvt but adapted to a specific locale, identified by name std_name.
